About Yasas

The Young Academies Science Advice Structure (YASAS) is a collaborative network of Young Academies from across Europe, established in December 2020. YASAS empowers early- and mid-career researchers (EMCRs) by providing a strong, independent voice in European science advice and policy. It promotes EMCR involvement in evidence-based policymaking, fosters cooperation among member academies, and offers opportunities for networking, training, and direct engagement with policymakers.

Since May 2022, YASAS has been a member network of the Science Advice for Policy by European Academies (SAPEA) project, contributing to the European Commission's Scientific Advice Mechanism (SAM). Within SAPEA, YASAS brings together EMCR expertise and perspectives, helping to strengthen the quality, diversity, and impact of SAPEA’s science advice activities.
